Relative Humidity

Relative humidity is a factor that's nowhere in your formula but decides the outcome anyway: on humid days, bubbles last a lot longer.

A bubble almost always dies because the water in its film evaporates until the film gets so thin it pops. Relative humidity controls how fast that evaporation happens: in humid air, water leaves slowly and the bubble lasts longer; in dry air, it evaporates fast and the bubble pops almost right away.

Adjusting your recipe for the weather

That's why the same formula that works wonders on a humid day can flop on a dry, windy one. The fix is to adapt the mix: in dry weather, lean harder on whatever holds water and stabilizes the film. Temperature matters too — together with humidity, it sets the air's overall "drying power."
